Quatri\u00e8me de couverture\u00a0<\/em>: Fin des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s paysannes, cuisines \u00e9quip\u00e9es, b\u00e9tonisation des terres arables, effacement des savoir-faire et cosmogonies autochtones, ignorance des rythmes du monde vivant\u2026 Ces ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes divers que l\u2019on apprend aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 d\u00e9plorer sont bel et bien li\u00e9s, nous disent depuis un demi-si\u00e8cle des th\u00e9oriciennes \u00e9cof\u00e9ministes, critiques de la modernit\u00e9 industrielle. C\u2019est \u00e0 leurs pens\u00e9es, m\u00e9connues en France, ainsi qu\u2019aux le\u00e7ons existentielles et politiques qu\u2019il convient d\u2019en tirer, qu\u2019est consacr\u00e9 cet ouvrage. L\u2019auteure explore les alternatives \u00e9cologiques et anticapitalistes contemporaines pour d\u00e9montrer que la vie quotidienne est un terrain politique fondateur.<\/p>\n

Sans politique du quotidien, sans reconstruction collective et radicale de notre subsistance, il n\u2019y aura pas de soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9galitaire ni \u00e9cologique. Contrairement aux id\u00e9es re\u00e7ues, ce n\u2019est pas la g\u00e9n\u00e9ralisation du salariat qui a permis d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de consommation et au confort appareill\u00e9, mais le colonialisme et le travail domestique f\u00e9minin. Une autre organisation politique de la vie et des rapports \u00e0 la nature est possible. \u00c0 condition d\u2019\u00eatre redistribu\u00e9, ancr\u00e9 dans une communaut\u00e9 en prise avec un biotope et des usages, le travail de subsistance ainsi repens\u00e9 devient un facteur d\u2019\u00e9mancipation. La fabrique du quotidien appara\u00eet alors pour ce qu\u2019elle est : un enjeu r\u00e9volutionnaire.<\/p>\n

Back cover (our translation):<\/em> The end of peasant societies, equipped kitchens, the pouring of concrete across arable land, the erasure of indigenous know-how and cosmogonies, the ignorance of the rhythms of the living world\u2026 These various phenomena that we are learning to deplore today are definitely linked, as ecofeminist theorists, critics of industrial modernity, have been telling us for half a century. This book is devoted to their thoughts, which are little known in France, as well as to the existential and political lessons to be drawn from them. The author explores contemporary ecological and anti-capitalist alternatives with the view to demonstrating that daily life is a founding political terrain.<\/p>\n

Without the politics of everyday life, without the collective and radical reconstruction of our subsistence, there will be no egalitarian or ecological society. Contrary to accepted ideas, it is not the generalization of wage-earning that has given us access to consumer society and comfort, but colonialism and female domestic work. Another political organization of life and relations to nature is possible. On the condition that it is redistributed, anchored in a community in contact with a biotope and its uses, subsistence work thus rethought becomes a factor of emancipation. The fabrication of daily life then appears for what it is: a revolutionary issue.<\/p>\n
