WORKSHOP GOAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We welcome contributions in the areas of\u00a0the Design Theory SIG : \u00a0<\/p>\n

1-\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design Theory and other\u00a0disciplines: AI, cognition, engineering sciences, data science, biology,\u00a0physics…<\/p>\n

2-\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The value of Design Theory\u00a0for practitioners<\/p>\n

3-\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design Theory and\u00a0Education\u00a0<\/p>\n

4-\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design Theory and perception\u00a0theory: reception and critic of design, identity of objects<\/p>\n

5-\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design theory and the\u00a0economics of design<\/p>\n

WORKSHOP ORGANIZATION\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n

Different types of sessions will be held\u00a0during the first two days (9am-6pm):<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Substantial presentations (45mn-1hour) of ongoing\u00a0research in the research areas of the SIG<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Round tables and \/or open discussions on new\u00a0approaches and emerging issues<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0 \u00a0 Special sessions\u00a0will be held to facilitate subgroup\u00a0meetings on special topics or to discuss new research plans that could benefit\u00a0from the cooperation of\u00a0several SIG members and lead to new insights and\u00a0co-publications<\/p>\n

Based on the work done during the previous workshops, we will have special parallel sessions to discuss the following four\u00a0topics:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design theory and creation in philosophy and culture<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design theory and Artificial Intelligence<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design theory and cognition and psychology<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Design theory and management<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

Final program and schedule: SIG Chairmen\u00a0will compose the final program taking into account suggestions and proposals\u00a0received from participants. Registration and submission for the workshop is detailed below.<\/p>\n

Submission for the WORKSHOP<\/p>\n

For those who would like\u00a0to present their work or would like to suggest topics for\u00a0discussions,\u00a0please submit (via the platform\u00a0https:\/\/designtheory.sciencesconf.org\/submission\/submit<\/a>\u00a0) a short abstract of (no more than two\u00a0pages) or a paper\u00a0(published or unpublished).\u00a0\u00a0Submission deadline is\u00a0October 29th<\/sup>, 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PRACTICALITIES, LOCATION and COSTS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

MINES ParisTech\u00a0(Ecole des Mines), 60 boulevard Saint Michel,\u00a0Paris 75006, FRANCE.<\/p>\n

MINES ParisTech is located in the heart\u00a0of the Latin quarter of Paris, near the Pantheon, Sorbonne University and the\u00a0Luxembourg gardens. It is really easy to access our school as it\u2019s 50 m from\u00a0the Luxembourg subway Station (RER) \u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
The participation to the\u00a0workshop\u00a0is free. The chair Design\u00a0theory and Methods for Innovation of MINES ParisTech will pay for the\u00a0organization and for breaks,\u00a0lunches during the workshop.\u00a0There will be a cocktail\u00a0for all\u00a0participants Monday January 31st<\/sup>\u00a0evening.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Additionally, the chair will cover the\u00a0accommodation costs for the speakers for 2 nights.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Travel and accommodation costs: all participants\u00a0who are not presenters are expected to cover their cost.\u00a0\u00a0A list of hotels in the neighborhood of MINES\u00a0ParisTech\u00a0can be provided.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
