DESCRIPTION:The CSI Guests Seminar will host \nBernadette Bensaude-Vincent \nPhilosopher and historian of science\, professor emeritus at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne \nto discuss her book \nTemps-Paysage \nPour une écologie des crises \nIntroduction to the discussion : Clément Foutrel \nBack cover: Qu’il tende vers le progrès ou vers l’effondrement\, nous voyons le temps sous la forme d’une flèche\, et nous le supposons donc unique et linéaire\, maîtrisé\, dominé\, comme vu de dehors\, c’est-à-dire de nulle part. Or\, la crise du climat nous oblige à abandonner cette position d’extra-territorialité : de multiples temporalités y entrent en jeu – les temps cosmologique\, géologique\, biologique\, historique\, social et vécu –\, qui rendent caduc le primat du temps chronologique\, lequel semble les aligner sur les barreaux d’une même échelle.\nDans cet essai\, Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent nous invite à sortir du cadre temporel de la modernité occidentale pour porter attention à la diversité des temps propres aux vivants et aux choses qui font monde avec nous – jusqu’aux virus\, aux plastiques ou aux déchets nucléaires. En s’inspirant de la pensée chinoise classique aussi bien que de l’écologie du paysage\, elle met au jour une hétérogénéité de trajectoires temporelles qui cohabitent\, interfèrent et s’entremêlent.
