DESCRIPTION: The Chair in Values and Personal Information Policies invites you to its 20th meeting “Digital Identities\, Biometric Data and Facial Recognition”. \nThis meeting\, which is part of the “Trusted Digital Identity” conference series\, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and will be moderated by Claire Levallois Barth. \nThis conference will allow us to draw up an inventory of the controversies generated by facial recognition\, particularly with regard to its respect and the respect of our fundamental rights: \nWith : \nEmmanuel Netter\, Professor of private law at the University of Avignon\, director of the LNBC;\nMarc Norlain CEO and co-founder of ARIADNEXT ;\nClaire Levallois Barth\, coordinator of the Chair on the Value and Political Values of Personal Information\, teacher-researcher in law ITM/Telecom Paris. \nThe meeting will be organized around three presentations: “Facial recognition for multiple uses”\, “The legal issues of facial recognition”\, “Facial recognition at the service of digital identity”. \n  \nPROGRAMME ET INSCRIPTION \nSpeakers : \n\nEmmanuel Netter :\n\nAfter studying private and business law at the University of Strasbourg. Emmanuel Netter defended in 2010 a thesis in personal security law under the supervision of Nicolas Rontchevsky. Since September 2018\, he joined the University of Avignon where he is involved in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in law as well as the multidisciplinary Master’s degree “Digital Governance”. He is a member of the Laboratory\, Standards\, Property and Contracts. He published the book “Numérique et grandes notions du droit du privé” in 2018. \n\nMarc Norlain :\n\nAfter studying statistics at ENSAE\, Marc Norlain worked in the research and development department of a French car manufacturer before joining SFR. As Manager of the IT department\, he is working with his teams on the implementation of a fraud detection system. He then looked for a solution to secure subscriptions between points of sale and decided to create AriadNEXT. The Breton company\, which specializes in digital identity problems\, uses the eID solution “Mobile Connect et Moi”. It is expected to carry out 35 million identity checks this year\, on behalf of banks\, telecom operators and the State. \n\nClaire Levallois Barth\n\nClaire Levallois Barth is coordinator of the Chair of Values and Personal Information Policies at the ITM\, and a lecturer in law at Télécom Paris\, in the Economic and Social Sciences department. She is responsible for axis 5 “Protection of Personal Data Involved in the Connected Car” of the Chair “Connected Car & Cyber Security” (C3S) at Télécom Paris. Claire Levallois Barth is also a member of the Digital Ethics Steering Committee\, associate editor of the Annals of Telecommunications and member of the scientific committee of the International Cyber Security Forum. \n
