Debate: “Reindustrialization: An Exercise in Democracy”

24 March 2026 @ 17 h 30 min - 19 h 30 min

You are invited to the event:

“Reindustrialization: An Exercise in Democracy”démocratie”

This event will be held at Mines Paris PSL on March 24, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. to mark the publication of the book “Industry and Residents: An Unsolvable Equation?” written by engineering students at Mines Paris-PSL under the guidance of Caroline Granier of La Fabrique de l’industrie.

The book draws on four case studies conducted by students in the Public Affairs and Innovation (API) track, under the guidance of Liliana Doganova and Clément Marquet of the Center for the Sociology of Innovation, to examine the tensions between public policies aimed at “reindustrialization” and the “acceptability” of industrial projects in the regions where they seek to establish themselves.

Three of the students who participated in this study—Yves Abraham, Marie Granotier, and David Yung—will share their experiences and findings. Their presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Florian Augagneur (Vice President of the CNDP), Philippe Ledenvic (former President of the Environmental Authority), and Serge Catoire (Director of Industry at the UIMM).
