Summer 2025 Libellio issue

Hello everyone,

This issue traces the itinerary of a gallery owner, Michel Broomhead, and Paul Minvielle discusses the issue of provenance research for works of art.

Laure Colin looks at an institutional innovation, the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx).

By their very nature, illiberal movements cannot tolerate the free search for truth. Once in power, they have no choice but to attack academic freedom. Published in 2024, David Rabban’s book is the reference on the subject.

When it comes to coding qualitative material, many theses and articles refer to the Gioia “method”. Did you say method?

On October 12, 1936, in Salamanca, Miguel de Unamuno opposed the force of dictatorship with freedom of thought, braving the cries of hatred and physical threats from Franco’s supporters.

The illustrations in this issue are by Charles Lapique, a major 20th-century painter championed by the Broomhead-Junker gallery, an exceptional colorist whom photography unfortunately tends to betray, whose life was otherwise exemplary (physics thesis, Croix de Guerre 1918 and declared Righteous Among the Nations).
