The CSI Guests Seminar welcomes

Olivier Alexandre

to discuss his book

La Tech

Quand la Silicon Valley refait le monde

Introduction to the discussion by Orso Roger and Guilhaum Panas

Tech : When Silicon Valley reshapes the world

Back cover: Silicon Valley is the beating heart of new technologies and sets the pace for the daily lives of billions of people. It has transformed the way we communicate, keep up to date, work, enjoy entertainment, and experience love. Its companies are at the forefront of media attention, with technological breakthroughs, financial markets and court cases. From space exploration to quantum computing, its engineers are pushing the boundaries of the infinitely large and small. Its scientists are planning to conquer death and create machines that surpass humans.

This book offers an immersive insight into a world that even inspires Hollywood, yet remains relatively unknown. Rather than focusing solely on the big names, it depicts the journeys, mindsets and methods of the people who battle daily within a hyper-selective system to attract investors, hire the best developers and find solutions that will change the world.

From Burning Man to anti-tech protests, it provides an insight into a world of constant revolution, brimming with both promise and concern for the future.
