Seminar ‘Maintaining. Architecture and maintenance, what we care about’

16 January 2026 @ 10 h 00 min - 13 h 00 min

Séminaire ‘Maintenir. Architecture et maintenance, ce qui nous tient’

Maintain more, repair less? From words to action

With Julien Le Mener, CEO of AUXIGENE

While transition policies emphasize the importance of renovation and transformation for building sustainability, might this perspective overlook the fact that a building requires maintenance regardless of any performative actions related to the project and investment expenditure?

For this 9th session, Julien Le Mener, CEO of AUXIGENE, a company specializing in multi-technical maintenance, will address the issue of sustainability, contrasting its acuteness with the invisibility of maintenance professionals’ forms and areas of intervention.

Tertiary decrees, BACS decrees, ECDs… What place do these regulatory measures, which make performance the driving force behind action and the focus of attention, leave for those who are concerned with maintaining and sustaining buildings daily? This session will give us the opportunity to discuss the idea of maintaining what is valuable and the valuation processes involving all stakeholders, including occupants.
